With festival season upon us, we're all hoping that the summer isn't a complete washout this year (although it looks like Glastonbury's going to be a mud-fest yet again!)
However, if the hot and sunny weekends we're desperately crossing our fingers for do arrive, Haverhill has a number of fetes, festivals and shows taking place throughout the summer.
Here's just a taster of what's to come...
A midsummer day’s dream
This Saturday 25th June from 1pm, Hempstead’s Village Hall will be home to the Midsummer Fete and Bazaar, featuring a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities, such as pony rides, face painting, a raffle and a selection of craft and food stalls.
Take to the streets!
Taking place on Haverhill High Street from 10:30am until 3pm on Saturday 2nd July, the town welcomes the annual Haverhill Street Festival.
Haverhill Street Festival is sure to be fun for all the family, with a deluge of weird and wonderful street performers and acts, including acrobats, musicians and some powdery-wigged Restoration Ladies.
Clare in the community
From midday until 5pm on Saturday 23rd July, Clare Playing Field Association will be holding a Community Fun Day on the field.
The perfect opportunity for numerous local community groups and organisations to promote themselves and do a bit of fundraising, events on the day include a junior football tournament, a fabulous display by the girls’ dance school, BBQ, afternoon teas and much more.
Steam and Country
On the weekend of 13th and 14 August at Horseheath Racecourse, The Thurlow Steam and Country Show is a steam engine and vintage tractor enthusiasts dream! And for those not so engine-inclined, there will also be a range of working exhibits and a sheep dog handling display by Amy Rouse.
Don't forget to keep checking thebestof Haverhill's Event Pages and Blog, as we'll be regularly updating our website with new and exciting outdoor events as we hear about them.
