EDF Energy, part of the EDF Group, are intending to build four new UK EPR reactors in the UK by 2025. The first two at Hinkley Point, followed by two reactors at Sizewell.
They are holding a regional Supplier Day to ensure that local businesses are aware of the opportunities that will arise from these investment plans.
The Suffolk event will take place at the Ufford Park Hotel in Woodbridge on 8th July.
Presentations and panel sessions led by key EDF Energy staff from engineering, quality and procurement divisions will help companies understand the requirements and how they can get involved.
If you would like to attend please register your interest with EDF Energy by 29th June.
Construction of the EPR is expected to lead to the signing of 150 contracts with local firms involved in technical services such as civil engineering, local manufacture of equipment, electrical and mechanical work, as well as for site services such as accommodation, transport and site logistics.
During the construction phase, the number of people working on the site could be up to 5,000 at its peak. Running the new power station will mean the creation of around 700 direct and indirect jobs in sectors such as catering, retail, crafts and services.
