Pupils at Place Farm Primary Academy celebrated the Harvest this week with a traditional assembly and donation of food. Pupils brought gifts to represent the harvest season, which were then donated to Haverhill Foodbank and the local day centre. Pupils also celebrated by singing a harvest song…
Head of School, Mrs Reed, said “The pupils had a lovely time celebrating harvest. It’s an important part of the calendar and having Henry visit us from Foodbank was an eye opener for some of the pupils. It helps them to appreciate what we have and understand that members of our own community need support at times.”
Henry Wilson came on behalf of Foodbank to accept the Harvest gifts, which will be used to provide emergency supplies to local families in time of need. The Foodbank project is part of the work of REACH Community Projects in Haverhill, which provides supports to the local and wider community in times of need.
