Training about loan sharks
There is an opportunity on Monday 24th November 2014 to attend a free Stop loan sharks training session also to be held at Haverhill Arts Centre. The training takes one hour and is scheduled from 11.30am to 12.30pm
TRAINING SUMMARY
An illegal money lender is someone who lends money as a business without the legal authorisation required by the Financial Services and Markets Act. They rarely give any paperwork and if repayments are missed they often use violence and intimidation to get their money back. There is a national Trading Standards team cracking down on illegal lenders in The East of England and we’d like to tell you more.
The training will give you more in-depth information about the project background, key things to look out for as a frontline worker or volunteer, the relevance of loan sharks for your organisation or community and a better understanding of the investigation and prosecution process. There is no charge for your attendance.
