Amber Valley CVS's work in the Community
As well as working to support volunteers and groups, Amber Valley CVS also run their own local schemes, working with families and the elderly to improve their quality of life and help them with day to day issues, and working with young people to ensure that their issues and concerns are voiced.
Home From Hospital
A free service for those aged 50+ who are about to be discharged from hospital and need support and assistance to return home.
Befriending
If you're over 50 and feeling isolated and lonely, Amber Valley CVS can provide a companion to call in once a week for a chat and to share some social time with you.

A scheme to support young people and children who are victims and witnesses of domestic violence.

This service is a signposting service, helping families in crisis or need to find out where they can get the help that will help them the most.
If you think you need help from any of these services,
or if you want to offer your help,

Policy and Partnership Work
Of course, none of this can be achieved in isolation from the rest of the Voluntary Sector. Amber Valley CVS works in close partnership with other voluntary and statutory agencies to ensure the development of the sector and to ensure that their work is meeting the most direct needs of our local community.
They never take their eyes off the ball, and liaise regularly with various statutory bodies such as the local authority and health agencies and strive at every opportunity to influence policy development at a local, regional and national level.
