As our area's biggest and most vocal supporter of independent local businesses, thebestof Heanor and Ripley are really proud to be launching the first ever Buy Local Week, to run from 3rd to 9th June 2013.
With the high profile demise of some of the big name national chains, there has never been a better time to support the many fantastic local businesses that operate throughout our local area.
Buy Local Week is a massive opportunity for the whole community to get firmly behind these bastions of the local economy and show your support and appreciation.
For every £1 spent in a local shop, at least 75p is recycled into the local economy, whereas that same £1 spent in a national chain or out of town retail park puts only 5p back into the local pocket! This is why this campaign is so important, and we're really proud to be bringing it to Heanor and Ripley!
Every day between Monday 3rd and Sunday 9th June, we'll be giving out big money prizes to people who take the time to click the link on our website and pledge their support. Remember Jason Hicking, who won a trip on the Orient Express during the 14 Days of Love? This time it could be you!
We'll also be out and about snapping pictures of local businesses proudly displaying our Buy Local window stickers, and if you've got one on your car, you could also be the winner of a very special prize!
All you'll need to do is take a picture of your car proudly displaying it's sticker somewhere in Heanor or Ripley, plus your receipt from a purchase at a local independent shop, and post it on our Facebook page to be in with a chance of winning!
If you haven't got your car sticker yet drop us a line and we'll send one out to you asap, or come and find us at Heanor Community Fair this weekend and pick one up in person.
