Last week the Derbyshire Constabulary Male Voice Choir performed an amazing concert in Heanor to raise vital money for the Derbyshire Blood Bikes, a self- funding charity that works to support the medical services of our county.
Over 100 tickets were sold, raising £750 for the charity, and the audience were treated to a varied range of songs from the choir's wide and diverse repertiore, including favourites such as Jerusalem, the National Anthem and even Bring Me Sunshine, from TV favourites Morecambe and Wise.
Organiser Cllr Alex Stevenson (also owner of Imperial) was clearly very proud of the event, and said
"Thank you to everyone that's come along tonight to support this event, and to help raise money for this very worthy cause. We hope they've enjoyed the night, they were certainly treated to lots of good humour and a very professional night of entertainment. We're over the moon with the amount that we've raised, and if we've made people feel good whilst doing it then its definitely been worth it for us"
The Derbyshire Blood Bikes is a charity set up to provide a free transportation service to support the medical services of our county. It is one of 12 such services around the country, including sections from Glasgow to Devon and Cornwall.
Derbyshire Blood Bikes operates solely on volunteers and fundraising so donations like this are vital to its ability to help save lives and provide vital support throughout Derbyshire.
