We are really lucky here in Heanor and Ripley to have two fantastic modern leisure centres which really go the extra mile to help keep our kids entertained throughout the school holidays.
As well as the ever popular swimming pools, both centres are running a full programme of activities for children of all ages throughout this week, from a pre-school Holiday Club every morning at Heanor to Street Surfing and FA Skills Coaching at Ripley.
The DC Leisure website has the full brochure with all the times and costs, and you'll need to book in advance for some of the activities but for a quick summary here's a list of what's on:

Of course, now that the weather looks to have improved a bit, you may want to get your bikes ouut and go for a spin along one of the great cycleways in our area, good ones to try are the Nutbrook Trail, which starts in Shipley Couuntry Park and goes all the way to Long Eaton, the Ripley Greenway and a nice little trail along the Cromford Canal starting in Langley Mill.
If that's too strenuous, you could always take the little ones to Lankey Bills or Planet Happy and let them burn off some steam whilst you sit back and have a coffee. Or for older kids take a trip to the Midland Railway Centre at Butterley or Crich Tramway Museum for an interesting and fun day out.
If you have any other ideas, let me know about them and I'll share them with everyone else.
Whatever you're doing this holiday, stay safe and hope you have a really good week.
