Its a long way from Langley Mill to Africa, but that's where one local woman is spending this month, after winning a national competition with a video about our local area.
Travel blogger Jen Lowthrop, who lives on Cromford Road, entered the competition run by the Double Tree hotel chain, to find bloggers to spend a month each on one of the five continents of the world. Each blogger is spending their month travelling around, staying in Double Tree hotels, and chronicling their experience through regular social media updates, videos and blogs.
On her trip, Jen is taking in no fewer than 5 locations across Africa and the Middle East, starting in Dubai, then moving on to the Seychelles, Zanzibar and Tanzania, before finishing the tour in Cape Town.
