This year’s May Fair on Bank Holiday Monday 6th May is gearing up to be a great day. Held at Mill Meadows, Henley, the May Fair opens at 12:00 with live music, entertainment and activities all afternoon to 5:00pm.
New this year is a May Queen and King children’s fancy dress competition. This will take place at 14:30.
Also new this year is a children’s baking competition, with prizes in 4 categories for best big cake, biscuits, tray bake and cupcakes. Judging will take place at 14:00 with prizes awarded at 15:30.
The Fair will also feature Ferret Racing, Morris Dancers, a performance by local performing arts school StageWorks, as well as the Round Table beer tent. There will also be bouncy castles, face painting and live music as well as many local stalls.
Henley Round Table Chairman 2013 Nick Fox explained “We’re really excited by the programme for this year’s May Fair. We have been organising the event for many years and together with our other events the annual Fireworks and the Christmas Float, the May Fair is an opportunity for many local charities to raise funds and gives Henley an opportunity to come together for a great afternoon by the River.
Our thanks also go to our sponsor IBS Office Solutions and to Henley Town Council for their support.”
The Henley Round Table is a voluntary group for men aged 18 to 45 with the aims of meeting socially and raising money for local causes through the annual events of Fireworks and the Christmas Float. In the past 3 years, the Round Table has donated over £20,000 to local charities including the Chiltern Centre and Bishopswood School.
