Last night I attended the launch of the Regatta For The Disabled 2011 at the delightful setting of Phyllis Court Grandstand in Henley-on-Thames. This fantastic event is in its second year and organisers are hoping to build on the success of the regatta in 2010.
Present to do the offical opening was Jeni Wood, Mayor of Henley. She commented that last year's regatta would be difficult to beat as a wonderful event. Debbie Flood, World Champion rower and double silver medallist also made a brief speech praisng the efforts of the organisers and asking for further volunteers. The event's main sponsor is Shanly Homes for the second year running.
At thebestofhenleyonthames we intend to help promote the regatta through our Blog, Events pages and newsletters. So look out for further information in the lead up to the regatta on Saturday 3rd September 2011.
