Time for a rant!! I don't know how much longer the roadworks in Duke Street/Reading Road are due to last, but what I wanted to say is how bad the signage is about a major road closure. The traffic in Henley is bad at the best of times but having to close one of the main arteries through the town is bound to cause congestion and delays. Add to this the very poor signage about the closure then you have a recipe for lots of problems. For example there are no signs down Greys Road warning that you can't turn in to Duke Street to access Hart Street. Also there is very little signage as you approach Henley that there is a major diversion in the town. All in all a very poor job by whoever is responsible to alert people of major roadworks and a tricky diversion.
Indeed I just spoke to a van driver who asked " How the F... to get out of the town?" I think that August is a good time to do roadworks as Henley is generally quieter but please provide ample warning and lots more signs!!
