I was very disappointed a few weeks ago to miss David Walliams' visit to Henley-on-Thames. His epic swim of the Thames certainly captured the imagination and brought most of the Town out to see him. I was following his progress via Twitter and it was buzzing as he neared Henley. David's swim was in aid of Sport Relief and raised over 1 million pounds. Now it's our turn....
As part of next year's Sport Relief people are being encouraged to take part in the Big Splash. This is designed to encourage people to learn to swim and to swim on a regular basis. The highlight of the Big Splash will be the Sport Relief mile to be held on the weekend 27th-29th April 2012. More details are on the BBC website.
If this has inspired you to get involved you won't have to travel far as Henley Leisure Centre is signed up to be involved. That doesn't give much of an excuse does it?
