Earlier in the week we wrote about some unusual and original gift ideas for your Dad for Father’s Day. We’ve managed to find lots of great ideas from shops and businesses in Henley-on-Thames. If you want to treat your Dad to a meal out we’ve also found some ideas from our best of henley members for you to try.
The Henley Brewhouse has made quite a name for itself in a short time. They have a Father’s day menu including slow roast middle white pork shoulder, Aberdeen Angus fillet of beef and herb crumb stuffed lamb saddle. If meat isn’t your Dad’s thing there is a pea, courgette and mint risotto or seared tuna to choose from. There is also a great choice of starters and puddings. In addition to this your Dad will get a free drink, a pint of Brewhouse beer or a glass of house wine.
The Hotel du Vin will be offering their popular Sunday Brunch which includes a gift for your Dad of 30% off all Gentlemens Tonic brand products and gift vouchers (terms and conditions apply) The Sunday Brunch is £24.95 for 4 courses including the fabulous French Market table.
The Olde Bell in Hurley has a Sunday al la carte menu with 2 courses for £24.50 or 3 courses for £29.50. If you choose here Hurley is a lovely place for a walk afterwards.
Luscombes at the Golden Ball in Lower Assendon is one of our favourite restaurants and just the place to take your Dad for a special treat. As with all our suggestions we suggest you phone to book as all these restaurants tend to be busy.
Luscombes are also providing the catering for Hobbs of Henley lunchtime jazz cruise. Enjoy the river while listening to the Joe Henwood jazz trio.
For something more informal The Chocolate Theatre Cafe in Thameside is the place to take your Dad for a sweet treat. The selection of cakes and pastries baked on the premises are delicious. If you combine the visit with a walk by the River you have the ingredients for a perfect day.
