Three Mo' Tenors
- on Exclusive Visit to England for The Henley Festival
This year's Henley Festival has a fantastic exclusive on its Floating Stage with US vocal giants, Three Mo' Tenors, headlining the Festival's Saturday night, 11th July.
Three Mo' Tenors are an African-American trio of phenomenal tenors who sing opera fit for Covent Garden or La Scala. They also sing blues, soul, gospel, Broadway, spirituals and jazz with huge warmth and style, while breaking into Temptations-style choreography. "Crazy, sexy, cool," as one New York publication called them. This visit to Henley is the only time they'll perform in the UK this year and it marks a very rare visit to England .
Three Mo' Tenors are set to electrify Henley Festival audiences. Kenneth Alston, Jnr, from the Bronx and fellow American Ramone Diggs, together with South African- born Phumzile Sojola are all classically trained, winning enviable followings in their individual careers in international opera houses as well as jointly as Three Mo' Tenors. Says Alston, "There was always music in my life and I got a chance to perform with high-profile performers like Whitney Houston and Diana Ross". This is a Henley Festival exclusive you don't want to miss.
Also performing on the Festival's Saturday night are: Miss Polly Rae and The Hurly Burly Girlys with their deliciously saucy burlesque cabaret, Radio 4's 'compère beyond compare' (and 'grumpy old man') Arthur Smith, plus top world music from 18- piece Ku-da-Mix, jazz from Michael Mwenso and fabulous electric folk from Sheelanagig. Add in the spectacular fireworks, vibrant visual art and Henley 's uniquely quirky roving street artists from around the world - all for a single ticket price - making it great value for money.
Henley Festival 2009 runs from 8th-12th July. For more information visit www.henley-festival.co.uk. Generous sponsors of this year's Festival include: Invesco Perpetual, Westcoast, Laurent-Perrier champagne, Lavazza, Hotel du Vin, Southern Electric.
