Henley-on-Thames has a great selection of golf courses to chose from what ever your level of golf and what ever your pocket can stretch to. The area has a lovely pay and play course called Greys Green Golf situated at Peppard Common. Greys Green (aka The Dog) has 3 courses, two nine holers and one eighteen hole course. Greys Green has a lovely coffee shop and their is no dress code to worry about.
Hennerton Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course in an area of outstanding natural beauty over-looking spectacular views of the Thames Valley, Berkshire Downs and Chilterns. Situated between Henley and Wargrave there is no joining fee and lots of membership options.
The two main courses in Henley-on-Thames are Henley Golf Club, located in Harpsden, and Badgemore Golf Club, just outside Henley. Henley is a members club and was designed by James Braid over 100 years ago. Badgemore started life in the 1960's and is a members club. Both courses can be played by visitors and they often have very good twilight rates.
Another good course not too far from Henley on the Marlow Road is the newer Harleyford Golf Club. Again set near to the Thames in lovely countryside Harleyford is more Amercian in style. Again visitors can find some very competitive rates on offer to play the course.
Henley has a lovely club house and the pro, Mark Howell and his team, offer golf lessons at reasonable rates. Henley doesn't have the function room space that Badgemore and Harleyford do. These two golf clubs are popular for holding weddings, parties and conferences. Badgemore has an excellent pro shop managed by Graham Finch, who also offers lessons. Badgemore is unique if having several B&B rooms that have just been refurbished. Badgemore Park often have membership offers promoted on the best of Henley.
