Today over 100 exhibitors gathered together for the Hereford and Worcester Business expo, ran by the Chamber of Commerce, at the three counties show ground, Malvern.
With over 800 people expected to attend it was an opportunity for businesses to network and free for anyone to attend. It also featured two guest speakers; Kevin Gaskell who rebuilt Porsche GB and increased growth to a record level at BMW UK and Dr Adam Marshall, Executive Director - Policy and External Affairs at the Chamber of Commerce.
One of the main talking point of the event was the proposal to creat a sky walk in Worcester. The plans consist of building an meandering elevated walk way linking the south side to the city centre, partly using the existing viaduct. It aims to enable to residents to cross the river in case the bridges are closed, as they were last year due to flooding.
You may have seen architect Mark Martin from One Creative Environments Ltd, on BBC Hereford and Worcester this evening. He said funding had yet to be secured but hoped the first phase of construction could start as early as the autumn, with the Skywalk opening to the public within three years.
