I was horrified to read in yesterdays paper that the RocknRoots Festival had been cancelled because Herefordshire Council had decided that the promoters had supposedly "failed to advertise the event sufficiently in order to obtain the necessary licence". In fact the festival has been promoted heavily on Sunshine Radio and The Best of Hereford, posters are on display everywhere, and there were adverts in the local press.
It was my understanding that this year's festival was to be the first of ten - yes the organisers were going to repeat the festival every year for at least the next ten years. Can you imagine the positive impact that this would have had on the local economy!
Makes you wonder what's going on at Herefordshire Council.......??? Perhaps someone can explain - your comments are welcomed.
