SPARKLE AND GLITZ COMES TO HEREFORD
Eight couples from around the county will help lighten the spirit on Saturday evening when they bring more than a dash of sparkle and excitement to the Shirehall in support of Hereford Cathedral Perpetual Trust and Breast Cancer Haven.
Over the past four months the couple have been learning the salsa and la roweda and will perform them at Hereford’s very own Strictly Dancing evening in front of a capacity audience. The evening, which will also include a glorious five-course dinner prepared by Hereford-based caterers Flavours, aims to raise over £15,000 in support of these two local charities.
Although the evening has been sold out for several weeks there will be an opportunity to have your own flavour of the event when two of the dancers, Mark Hubbard, from Fodders, and Erica Manley of the Perpetual Trust, will perform in Church Street, Hereford on Friday (23 April) at 2.30 pm.
‘It seemed a great idea when Mark first mentioned it,’ said Erica Manley, ‘but as it comes closer I am starting to think otherwise ...’
‘Customers to Fodder and traders in Church Street and around the city have however been very generous in their sponsorship of Mark and I, and all the other dancers, and we hope that this performance will bring a little excitement to Church Street for the afternoon. Our routine is 3 minutes long so I suggest that anyone wanting to support us gets to Church Street early as I am not sure if my nerves, or heels, will allow a second performance!’
The other couples taking part in the evening are Paul Bagley & Emma Croft, Phil & Nicky Brace, Julie & Mike Cohn, David & Liz Evans, Alex Roweberry & Rebecca White, Tim & Sandra Traherne and Philippa Williams & Pawel Lewandowski. The evening has also been sponsored by Advantage, Bartonsham Dairies, Ellis Properties, Flavours, Knight Frank, Hatterrall Ridge, Tanners, Play and Wye Valley Life.
