Changes are taking place in Hereford to the way our recycling and refuse will be collected. This is all happening in November.
In Hereford we are currently recycling 33.92% - but this needs to increase to 40% by 2010.
The new wheeled bins will be delivered to households in September or October in time for the new service to begin in November.
There are a number of benefits to the new scheme. We will continue to have a weekly collection of black sacks - although these will now be delivered twice yearly. Recycling collections will take place fortnightly. We will now have only one container which should make recycling easier - and hopefully there will be more material recycled than ever.
