1. Keep the Home Fires Burning Concert

Join the Ware Brass Band and Ware Operatic Society for a concert commemorating the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I. Honouring the hero's and fallen of the World Wars. Music includes military brass band and big band swing, to evoke that of a bygone age.

Date: Saturday 2nd August 2014

2. Rock at the Castle

Rock at the Castle is back and celebrating its 10th anniversary. With local acts including Stolen Horse, Schrödinger’s Strings, Exit Black and Hertford Allstars. There are a total of eight main stage acts and seven acoustic acts plus the grand finale performance meaning that there should be something to suit everyone.  

All donations go to this year's charity Mudlarks.

3. Bullenbush Band

Bullenbush Band bring together folk rock and barn dance music in way that is bound to get your feet tapping.

4. World War I Commemoration Service

An ecumenical service to mark the start of World War I will take place at the War Memorial. Hertford museum will be open throughout the evening with exhibits including Regimental and WWI artifacts.

Date: Monday 4th August 2014

Time: Hertford museum will be open between 5:00 – 8:00pm with the service at 8:00pm.

Where: Hertford Museum, 18 Bull Plain, Hertford and War Memorial, Parliament Square.

5. Music and Motors

For the sixth year Music and Motors celebrates travel, with displays including classic cars and motorcycles at Tudor Square in Ware. There will also be live acoustic music from local artists playing throughout the afternoon.

6. Concert at the Castle Open Day

Enjoy the sound of a traditional brass band in the grounds of Hertford Castle. If you feel the need to stretch your legs then take a wonder inside the Castle and discover some of the history of the town.

7. Ware Town Tour

Learn some of the history of Ware with a historic walk through the town, with cream teas served afterwards.

8. Musical Mystery Tour

Venues around Hertford will be playing host to a total of 16 artists from a wide range of genres. Drop into your favourite venues and listen to live music.

10. Open Air Screening of The Italian Job

“You were only meant to blow the bloody doors off”, one of the most popular phrases of film. The Original Italian Job is coming with Hertford Castle playing host to an open air cinema. So grab a picnic blanket and enjoy this British classic. Pimms and popcorn available.
