Hertford Town Council have again joined forces with the Secret Society of Hertford Crafters (SSOHC) to run a FREE town centre trail. The theme this year is “We’re Going to the ZOO!”
The trail is aimed at children to enjoy with their families and runs from Saturday 22nd July until Saturday 26th August.
Knitted characters of favourite animals have been created by SSOHC and will be hiding in participating shop windows around the town centre.
To take part in the trail, families should visit Hertford Town and Tourist Information Centre to pick up a trail map from the leaflet holder. Alternatively, the trail map can be downloaded from www.gohertford.co.uk or the Town Council website. Extra maps will be held at Hertford Museum and Hertford Library as well as all participating venues.
Children will need to locate the crafted characters hidden within businesses taking part around the town. Once all the characters have been found, the answer to puzzle should be as easy to spot as an elephant in a greenhouse!
Completed the trails can be submitted through the letter box at the Town and Tourist Information Centre, for a chance to win a £30 gift voucher to spend at a Hertford retailer.
Chair of Hertford Town Council’s Development and Leisure Committee, Cllr. Ann Woodward, said: “The Children’s Summer Trail is a great way for residents and visitors alike to explore Hertford and discover the fantastic range of independent and national retailers that help make Hertford such a wonderful place.”
The Secret Society of Hertford Crafters have provided 22 crafted characters of animals for Hertford Town Council’s Summer Trail. Characters include a sloth, a zebra, an orangutan and a flamingo. After the trail finishes the characters will be auctioned off to raise money for SSOHC to enable them to fund future projects. The link to the auction is www.jumblebee.co.uk/zootowntrail
This event is part of Hertford Town Council’s long tradition of providing events in the Town Centre and within the Castle Grounds.
