By Monday 6th September all Hertford schools will be back to the grindstone. But parents and carers need to be aware that they need to start looking now for places to Hertford schools in 2011.
If your child is in year 6 now expect to be handed a leaflet as from Monday 6th outlining the process for moving schools. Even though the deadline is October 31st 2010, parents and carers are being urged to submit their choices by Friday October 22nd so they can be checked.
To fill out an online form visit the website: www.hertsdirect.org/admissions or a paper one can be requested there as well. Please note, paper applications can no longer be returned to the child's current primary school. Instead parents need to inform their local admissions and transport team.
If you are looking to apply for a primary, junior or middle school place, you can make your applications from November 15th, with the closing date for the end of January.
Nursery application need not start until mid February.
