The 9th of December saw the first London Olympic venue opened just a few miles down the A10 from Hertford.
The Lea Valley White Water Centre in Waltham Cross was officially opened by Princess Anne on time and most importantly, on budget. The venue will play host to the canoeing during London 2012.
It seems amazing to think that only three and a half years ago the bid was awarded to London and in that time a complex water centre has been finished.
It's great to be so close to one of the venues during London 2012 and access can be gained from Hertford along the River Lea tow path. So when it heats up a bit out there, take an enjoyable bike ride along the Lea and view the centre from special viewing areas.
