You're procrastinating, and you’re probably doing it right now. Me too. We all do!
You see, I started the day with a proper plan. I was going to spend the whole day working ON my business, with no distractions, but then my procrastination habit kicked in, and I started finding ridiculous things to do in order to avoid tackling the big things. Thing like clearing emails, tidying my desk, checking Facebook, or keeping the books up to date. I lapsed into doing jobs which I could pay somebody else £10 an hour to do. Procrastination really is the disease of the poor.
When I procrastinate, it's as if I'm subconsciously avoiding the big stuff - the stuff that makes a difference, and which moves me and my business towards my goals. But it's not just me, it's you too. In fact, most people procrastinate when it comes to doing the important or difficult things so, at least in this regard, we’re normal!
So many businesses are stuck at their current level not because of any real tangible obstacles or barriers but simply because of procrastination. It's a cancer that eats away at our productivity every single day, taking you away from the big stuff - the things that make a difference. The things that move you and your business towards your goals.
Your job today, right now, is to conquer it. Then you'll then have to do it again tomorrow, and the next day, and the next. Because procrastination is never cured. It's like my joint pain. I can control it, but it will always be with me.
Procrastination is a condition that we all suffer from, but your job is to fight it with every sinew. Fight to spend productive time on things that make a difference. The things that secure the future, the things that move you - and your business - towards your goals.
I won’t let it win, and neither must you.
