Members of CETG enjoy not only Hand and Machine Embroidery but also the associated crafts of Beadwork, Dyeing, Felting, Patchwork, Quilting, Knitting, Crochet and Printing.
Traditional needlework skills flourish alongside the more innovative and experimental techniques that new products and modern equipment encourage.
Whether a beginner, an improver or an experienced needlewoman, you will always receive a warm welcome to this friendly, supportive and enthusiastic group.
Meetings
The focus of most monthly meetings is a talk by a well-regarded speaker on a particular aspect of his/her association with textiles. Visiting speakers have included textile artists, lecturers/tutors, authors, curators, textile-related charities and seasoned travellers.
Members can meet up with friends, exchange ideas, share current projects, find out what's happening from the events calendar and enjoy free tea and coffee.
Library
Books and DVDs can be borrowed from the expanding and up to date library collection.
Outings
Members and friends can enjoy an annual outing to a major textile exhibition/venue and a trip to the Knitting & Stitching Show. Visits to quilting exhibitions are held in association with local quilting groups.
