e are passionate about teaching and learning at Holmer Green Senior School. We want students to become independent, reflective learners who study a broad and rich curriculum. We want students to think, act and speak as subject specialists in all of their subjects and be well prepared to be very successful in their life after HGSS.
We provide a substantial range of Continuing Professional Development opportunities for teachers at HGSS. These include fortnightly teaching and learning clinics, weekly coaching, team teaching and bespoke CPD opportunities such as a Professional Studies programme for our beginning teachers.
Our teachers hold high expectations for all of our students. In 2015, 41% of A-Level Grades were A* to B and 43% of GCSE Grades were A* to B.
Students are assessed regularly, both formally and informally, and this information is used by teachers to inform their teaching. Parents receive regular updates about their child's progress.
