This month's meeting of the Bucks Pottery and Sculpture Society will include a talk and demonstration by ceramic artist Mark Dally. Mark finds inspiration in 17th century Staffordshire slip trailing, mid century industrial ceramics such as Homemaker and Walking Ware, and sci-fi animations and comics from the 1940s, 50s and 60s. He likes to combine traditional craft and contemporary techniques in a modern take on Staffordshire slipware and flatbacks. He is currently experimenting with using white earthenware clay and black slip over paper resist stencils. Examples of his work can be seen at www.markdallyceramics.co.uk
The meeting will be held at Little Kingshill Village Hall, Windsor Lane, Little Kingshill (HP16 0DZ) on Friday 28th June from 8-10pm. Entry is free for BPSS members, £5 for visitors. Information about the Society can be found at www.buckspotters.com, we are also on Facebook and Instagram.
