The Queen visits the Borough
Last Thursday the Queen officially opened the new Military base in Northwood.
The new base will be used to co-ordinate operations in Afghanistan. The base is part of a £150 million redevelopment programme, with several buildings being demolished and new builds replacing them.
The Queen arrived with Prince Philip in the afternoon and took a tour of the new buildings and meet several army medal recipients too. The Queen also unveiled a plaque to commemorate her visit to Northwood.
The redevelopment is due to completed by 2011.
