Recycling for Christmas 2009
Hillingdon council are urging residents of Hillingdon to think before they throw their waste out over Christmas.
Every year the average household has an additional 5 black sacks of rubbish put out for collection which could be dramatically reduced with extra recycling.
Wrapping paper, your tree or unwanted presents can all be recycled.
Hillingdon council are already up to 35% with the recycling rate and aim to bring it up to 40% in 2010.
Last month a new 'missing' campaign was launched to see what common items were being found in regular refuse sacks which are missing from the recycling sacks.
