WW11 victims are remembered at South Ruislip's Polish War Memorial
In 1948 the Polish War Memorial was built to remember the 1,903 victims of the Polish Air Force who were killed in the second World War.
A strong crowd of war veterans attended the ceremony on Saturday 4th September at the grade II Polish War Memorial in South Ruislip. The Polish War Memorial has been restored ready for the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
The memorial stands for the lives of men and women who gave their lives in the war. On the day a flypast also took place during the ceremony and is located just off of the A40 exit in South Ruislip.
The Polish War Memorial is made from Portland Stone with bronze lettering and a bronze eagle which symbolises the symbol for the Polish Air Force.
