Late night last night, attended the seminar and dinner at the Hinckley Business Association (HBA), which meets at the Sketchley Grange Hotel. The treasurer of the HBA, Dawn from Sturgess Hutchinson - Accountants and Business Advisers said that there were actually 52 local business members and guests present in total at the event and it certainly filled the Sketchley Grange Willow Restaurant bar and the restaurant itself with a chatter of noise from all the talking.
We had a business talk from Chris White, Chief Executive of the Hinckley and Rugby Building Society who explained just how much the Society does for the local communities in our area through charity work and support of local groups.
The after dinner speaker was 'Blind Dave Heeley' the blind marathon runner who did 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days to raise huge amounts of awareness and funding for Guide Dogs all over the world! What a character he is and clearly full of energy and motivation.
