Funding for Business Training - what a positive approach

North Warwickshire & Hinckley College have access to a significant amount of funding to spend during 2009/10 on Adult Education in the Borough.

Our interest in this, from a local business perspective, is that the funding can be used to support business trainees through two initiatives that should be of value to our local business community. The initiatives are:

Pre Employment Training - this is provision run and paid for by the College to essentially train individuals to a point that qualifies them to take up a position that an employer has identified they have a need for. Individuals get trained and qualified, some individuals go on to secure a job, and local employers' needs are met.

National Voluntary Trainer Pathfinder - individuals are trained, usually over an intensive 8-week period (without loosing entitlement to benefits), to gain a qualification based on a need within a sector. This type of provision is initiated as a result of a need being identified and defined by employers.

If you think that one or both of these initiatives could be of benefit to your business then either contact Judith Sturley - Senior Economic Regeneration Officer for Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council (Judith.Sturley@hinckley-bosworth.gov.uk) for more information or talk directly with the College's business support department: Lee Croucher - (lee.croucher@nwhc.ac.uk).

Please do mention that you found out about these funding initiatives, available through NW & Hinckley College, on thebestofhinckley.
