I’ll be climbing Snowdon on 22nd May 2010 and having never climbed a mountain before, I believe this will be a significant challenge for me personally. The weather will play a big part in the difficulty, last year’s event was held in driving rain and high winds. I’ve started cycling 3 times a week the 25 mile round trip to work, and will be going on some longer walks to increase my fitness levels.
What’s it all about
It’s because prostate cancer affects so many men and their families / friends that we organise the Snowdon 500 Challenge as a way of making people more aware of this killer disease and raise the funds that are essential to ensure that the research effort into finding ways of improving the treatment of prostate cancer. By taking part, walkers will not only summit the highest mountain in England and Wales, but do so in the company of other likeminded people. They will be rewarded by a fantastic and enjoyable day in the knowledge that the sponsorship funds raised through this charity event will make an important contribution to the work of the Prostate Cancer Research Centre in it’s quest to find a cure for the most frequently diagnosed male cancer in the UK
All contributions, large and small because every penny helps, would be welcome and I’ve started a page on Virgin Money Giving (CLICK here), which can be used to donate. For taxpayers, the charity can claim back the gift aid portion of any donation made.
Thank you in anticipation of your kind support.
