Rosanne had a really great day with 45 friends and family who supported her at the Open Mic competition in Leamington Spa with banners and extremely loud voices!
The competition was very tough and Rosanne was the youngest competitor there by a couple of years. Several of the singers accompanied themselves and, as Rosanne was the second last act, this meant sitting through quite a few extremely strong performances and getting more tense all the time.
No worry though, Rosanne sang "And I am telling you", which is a big song but it blew the competition away. Rosanne was the only act who had three (of the four) judges standing at the end along with the majority of the people in the auditorium.
The outcome of this is that Rosanne has made it through to the area finals of the competition in Bedford on the 28th November. Rosanne and family are hoping to take even more people along to this area final and will be organising as many events as possible to publicise Rosanne before then. If Rosanne does get through this next stage then she will be singing at the O2 Arena in London in January.
Rosanne’s older sister Rebecca (17) is the current holder of the Mathew Fulham bursary, which she won due to her singing ability. Both Rebecca and Rosanne sang at the opening of the Atkins building on the 28 September to great applause.
Rosanne is looking for as much support as possible to attend and vote for her at the Area Finals on Sunday 28th November at 1pm in Bedford (Corn Exchange). Rosanne will be looking for opportunities to publicise and showcase her singing in the next 2 months as this forms part of proving you are a performer and committed.
