Some of our favourite local independents took part in a rummage sale at The George's barns in Bucklersbury today.
Organised by Hannah at Jolly Brown, the event featured bargains from Jolly Brown itself, as well as Planet Clothing, What Sarah Did, Dollie Mixtures, Vintage Jewels, Humanitas, Rubarb and artist Helen Flower.
Through the day, crowds gathered to pick up a bargain and see what's on offer at the stores. With free entry and the George's bar and lunch menu on offer at the same time, many people took advantage of the late October sunshine.
"We've been mobbed," said Hannah. "We wre turning people away at 10am and asked them to come back when we were due to open at 11am. Through the four hours, there's been a constant ream of people hunting out a bargain and seeing what each shop has to offer."
More proof (if we need it) that our local independents are working hard to give shoppers what they want. Who needs to leave Hitchin?
