The votes have been counted and it's great that Hitchin is, once more, home to one of North Hers' best pubs.
The Half Moon on Queen Street was Pub of the Year for three years from 2009 to 2011 but was pipped to pole position by The Red Lion, Preston (this year's runner up) in 2012 and the Orange Tree in Baldock in 2013.
Now we have to hope the votes are cast in Hitchin's favour at the Hertfordshire Pub of the Year. CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) members need to get their votes in.
We're lucky to have so many great pubs, many of them owned and run by local people. If you need an excuse to head out into one now, that's your cue. Keep them going and keep voting for them when you can.
