The full Council meets on Thursday 3 December at 7.30pm in the Council Chamber, Gernon Road, Letchworth, where they will vote on whether or not to release funds for the conversion of Hitchin Town Hall into a District Museum.
There have been many views expressed over the intention to convert the hall, members of local community groups feel that the plans do not give enough room for current usage whilst the council feel that this will not be effected.
Representatives from the Hitchin Society and Hitchin Forum will be speaking on behalf of community groups concerned that NHDC have not properly investigated all options for both the Town Hall and the museum.
The Hitchin Society and Hitchin Forum group hope that a large contingent of Hitchin people at the meeting will help to encourage wavering councillors to vote for a deferment. If you are a local Hitchin resident please go along on Thursday night and support the campaign.
