Last week we were at a Bestof National Conference and the keynote speaker was Laura Tenison MBE. For those of you who don't know who Laura is, she is the Founder and MD of JoJo Maman Bebe, who have stores and catelogues covering everything you could possibly want for babies upto the age of 6 years old including furniture, toys, prams, and maternity wear.
Now my eldest is 14 and when I was pregnant there was pretty much the choice of Mothercare or Dorethy Perkins for maternity wear.
We listened to her telling her story of her career and what came across was her passion for what she does, her staff, her charity work and her vision for the future. We was open, honest and very down to earth.
At the end, Keith pipped up about how great Hitchin was and she said that Hitchin was actually somewhere that she was looking into opening a shop and could we suggest anywhere that might be suitable? She has already been into Hitchin and had a look around.
So we put a message out onto our facebook group and have had over 50 comments already from mums/dads/grandparents saying that yes they would live JoJo Maman Bebe to come to Hitchin. Laura also said that she would be happy to come along and give a talk for us so we hope when we organise that with her, that many of you will come along to hear her speak. She really has a very interesting and inspiring story.
