For the last six years, a thriving community has grown up around www.hitchinfilms.co.uk and the regular screenings of interesting films.
Run by volunteers and dedicated film-lovers, Hitchin Film Club shows some of the more interesting films. Not usually blockbuster Hollywood movies, these are far more interesting and often show films that have had limited distribution in the larger cinemas.
With two venues at the Queen Mother Theatre and the Centre for the Arts at the college on Willian Road, this is a great opportunity to see films in our town.
This is a great group that runs on a shoestring - support it if you can.
Writer and sax player. Brought up in Hitchin and - apart from uni and some ensuing madness of life in London - I've always lived here.
