Only 23 days to go before Rhythms of the World 2010 and there are still plenty of volunteers needed over the weekend. There are a whole host of ways you can help and if you volunteer for 4 or more hours during the festival, you will get light refreshments and a free entry pass for the day that you work.
Here's some of the roles that you could help with:-
Stewards Team - over 60 stewards are needed on duty at any one time which means that over 200 people need to be involved to run a shift system over the festival weekend!
Merchandising Team - some vending or retail experience would be useful but guidance and supervision is available and you would be working with a pool of volunteers who have experience.
Production Crew - we need help to build the site the week before the festival and take it down again the week after!
The Green Team - essential part of the festival is keeping the site clean, tidy and free of rubbish. Volunteers work across the whole site so have the advantage of being able to enjoy the performances whilst working :)
Runners - volunteers must have access to food and water during the festival so we need a team of runners (aged 15 or older) who work in pairs to deliver food and drink as well as other items to the stages and volunteers on site.
Ticket Gate - we need 100 volunteers a day to man each gate. Working in pairs this is a very busy role. Volunteers must be over 18 although there are some roles for 16-18 year olds.
Clickers - Accuracy and concentration is essential in this role working in one hour shifts with breaks in between, you count the number of people entering and exiting the festival.
Programme Sellers - need to engage the public and sell the programmes!
If any of the above roles take your fancy and you can offer 4 or more hours on either 24th or 25th July (or both) then please get in contact with the volunteers team by emailing volunteers@rotw.org.uk or give Alison Watt or Jo Winstanley a call on 07834 363626 / 07879 487445
