We will be teaming up with the brilliant Mandinga Arts who will be bringing lots of colour and entertainment to our parade.

We are looking for people to take part in a street parade with us. Do you know someone who is into street dance, enthusiastic, energetic, up for a laugh and loves to dance?
This is a great opportunity to get involved in a street procession the like of which Hitchin has never seen before.
Top Brazilian Carnival group Toque Tambor in association with The Hitchin Tilehouse Rotary Club are teaming up with the mighty Mandinga arts.
Together they will bring the people of Hitchin together for a unique carnival event for the whole community.
Think Carmen Miranda meets a giant pineapple which meets psychedelic monkeys.
As well as 40 costumed drummers and a sound truck with artists flown in especially from Rio de Janeiro, we are looking for the whole town to parade with us.
Were also looking for local people to take part in day long workshop on 1st July in Hitchin with Mandinga Arts.
Participants will learn how to perform in a specific character and get a chance to try on some of the costumes.
It's a unique way to learn about street entertainment with the carrott of getting to wear one of Mandingas costumes on the parade day itself.
You will learn how to move and work as a part of a group to entertain the masses on the streets of Hitchin.
You will also get your face pained by some of the countries most renowned face painting artists.
Places for this are limited so get in touch with Maggie as soon as you can.
Musts
You must be able to attend an all day workshop on Sunday 1st July in Hitchin. Venue TBC
You must also be able to take part in the parade on 7th July with a short refresher class on the day itself. Exact timings TBC.
You must be 16 or over to take part.
