Saturday sees the start of the Summer Reading Challenge - this year Record Breakers!
Last year, almost 19,000 children across Hertfordshire joined the challenge and it's a great way of helping your child improve their literacy and love of books through the summer.
There's the usual stickers to collect and starter packs will be available in Hitchin library from Saturday onwards.

Meanwhile, there's also an activity for 11-18 year olds, who often feel above the summer challenge. ImagiNation 2015 encourages young people to borrow and read two library books and respond to them creatively.
We're looking forward to seeing comic strips and movie trailers!

Writer and sax player. Brought up in Hitchin and - apart from uni and some ensuing madness of life in London - I've always lived here.
