As darkness fell this Sunday evening, a carol service with Churches Together in Hitchin filled the Market Place. It finished a weekend of food, music and shopping filling the town.
Some of our favourite bars and chefs were on hand with everything from falafel to mulled wine and mince pies.
The massive snow globe was busy with queues of small children wanting to play in the fake snow.
Old-fashioned carousels entertained everyone from the little ones to older kids.
We've yet to hear how much was raised by the charity car park at Hitchin Priory, but it seemed to be busy with cars in and out.
There's still lots on offer in Hitchin in the last days before Christmas and don't forget the massive Hitchin Markets' three day event on 22, 23 and 24 December.
You'll even be able to see Santa in his grotto and give him your last minute wishlist.
Shop local - it's fun as well a a good thing to do!
Writer and sax player. Brought up in Hitchin and - apart from uni and some ensuing madness of life in London - I've always lived here.
