I spoke to foodie and BBC Three Counties Radio presenter Nick Coffer about being patron of this weekend's Hitchin Food & Drink Festival.
He loves it. Why wouldn't I?
"Food is very much part of Hitchin's community, with lots of producers in the area. The strong tradition of the market helps make Hitchin such a great spot. The Festival has been growing year on year.
"I'm passionate about the town and food, so becoming patron was a no-brainer for me."
As patron, Nick's singing the praises of the Festival and sees himself as a small part of a passionate team that puts in loads of hard work to make it happen.
"People put a lot of time and effort into getting the stalls organised, the chefs sorted for the demonstrations and a cool programme for the whole weekend."
Talking of chefs giving demonstrations, Nick himself will be in the Market Place (possibly with help from his children - he's a strong advocate of getting them into the kitchen young) at 3pm today.
He wasn't giving much away about what he'd be cooking, but rest assured there'll be audience involvement and probably some tasting opportunities.
Writer and sax player. Brought up in Hitchin and - apart from uni and some ensuing madness of life in London - I've always lived here.
