It was lovely to see market stalls on Market Place, albeit temporarily. It's such a great space, being used to maximum effect.
Also on this weekend was Walsworth Festival, which enjoyed unusually beautiful weather. Hundreds of people poured onto the common to enjoy the music, food, drink and family fun activities.
Talking of fun family activities, the Rhythms of the World volunteers (you did know they're all volunteers, right?) were out on the Market Place on Hitchin, appealing for more help.
This year's festival takes place at the Priory on 2 and 3 August and these things don't just happen. Volunteers put in months of their spare time to make sure all the facilities and fun are in place and this year the weather has got to be better than the last one in 2012.
So, if you have a little spare time in the next couple of months to help it happen for others, get in touch with the team. And if you plan to come and coule spare a few hours on the Saturday or the Sunday, do the same.
It's easy - just email volunteers@rotw.org
