West Hitchin Action Group will be in Market Square on Saturday 9 and Saturday 23 March to show their opposition to the proposed development of greenbelt around Hitchin (red and blue areas on the map).
They support:
* the preservation of Hitchin’s greenbelt in order to retain the town’s unique rural character for future generations
* sustainable and realistic housing growth that meets Hitchin’s needs, not developers’ and landowners’ needs
* use of brownfield sites for housing development
*initiatives that support our green spaces - parks, sports fields, communal gardens - as well as footpaths and bridleway used for recreational purposes.
