If you want to choose a date for an event, looks like you should go with the date of the Hitchin Fashion Show.
Today's event brought the sun out bang on noon as the music started and the first models trod the imaginary catwalk of the Market Place cobbles.
It's always difficult to count how many people came, but they were four or five deep around the 'stage' itself.
The stores offered spacial offers to entice shoppers in after the event.
Once more, organisers laid on a great event for shoppers - even those not entirely dedicated followers of fashion.
If you missed this one, there'll be another one in May and lots of other events on Saturdays in the Market Place - long may that spirit of entertainment in the town centre continue.
Writer and sax player. Brought up in Hitchin and - apart from uni and some ensuing madness of life in London - I've always lived here.
