Many of our local independent retailers put some of their wares on display in Hitchin Market Place on Saturday. It was a great chance for people to taste what's on offer around the town.
Meanwhile, on the banks of the River Hiz, a half pipe was set up alongside food and drink stalls, music and commentary as local people took to skateboards and BMX bikes.
Organised by Jolly Brown, with support from local clothing brands and bars, the day was enjoyed by locals and visitors. The area was thronged through the day.
Most of the bars sold out, as did Cantina Carnitas, who pride themselves on supplying street food for everyone.
The weather was a help, but both events brought people in to experience some of the great stuff Hitchin has to offer.
These events take a lot of organising and it's great that they get the support.
Writer and sax player. Brought up in Hitchin and - apart from uni and some ensuing madness of life in London - I've always lived here.
