Is 20 plenty? Have you driven around other towns with a speed limit of 20mph?
I found myself on a 20-mph street this weekend and it was actually making the traffic move more smoothly and I suspect more drivers were taking notice of pedestrians on the streets.
A neighbour was recently badly hurt by a car that may well have been exceeding the current speed limit of 30 mph. Should we be focussing on getting people to stick to what is law already before making changes?
I live on a busy main road and occasionally hear cars speeding past at well over the limit. Nothing seems to be detering them and would a reduction in the limit make them change?
